Christmas/Advent concert begins at 6:30 pm tomorrow night. It is a wonderful time to gather together to worship our Savior. I truly hope to see each of you there!

Good Evening!
We continue to pray for Zachary, our classmate, who had to have surgery last night. Zach was sick Wednesday and Thursday and ended up having appendicitis. We pray for a speedy recovery and can't wait to have him back in class. We made cards today and I am heading to see Zach this evening to deliver them. I'm sure they will put a smile on his face!
As you might have already heard:

Due to the expected snow tonight and into tomorrow morning, we will be postponing our games originally scheduled fortomorrow morning until NEXT SATURDAY, DECEMBER 21. The game times will remain the same: 10 am (B Girls'), 11 am(B Boys'), 12 pm (A Girls'), and 1 pm (A Boys').
The workers scheduled for this Saturday will still be scheduled for next Saturday unless we hear from you differently. We are also looking for more workers. See the link here:

We had an AWESOME day today at our Packer Party! Thank you to our room mom, Mrs. K, for a fantastic party. Congratulations to CS for winning the 2013 Paper Football Challenge!
Just a reminder: Mrs. Uher will be with the students on Monday and Tuesday next week. My little sister will be having her baby boy delivered on Monday. I'll be there to help out the new family of four for a few days. If an issue arises, please contact me via text or email, but understand I may not be able to reply right away. Welcome to a new week AND a new quarter!
Announcements:
I hope that everyone had an enjoyable weekend. I learned lots of new things at our teacher's conference last week that I should be able to implement already this week. One of the new things on my list is exploring new Google Apps and Extensions that can aid in learning. Students without internet access at home, will have to spend time in class to work on these items but I think it will make the learning process more enjoyable and hands on. I look forward to sharing a few of those items soon!
We will have a NEW typing program starting tomorrow. This program will give me a better handle on how the students are progressing in their typing. I was having issues with the other program so I've decided to make a switch. It shouldn't affect the students too much!

1 - Short week this week. Tomorrow is our "Thursday" so I will be sending home papers and what-not.
2 - Last day for 1st Quarter grades will be on Wednesday. Anything due Monday will not be counted in the 1st quarter. Those students who are missing this week should work to get missing items in as soon as possible so that report cards can be wrapped up.
3 - Thank you for all of your responses regarding Parent-Teacher Consultations. I have all 23 scheduled! I pray that our short 15 minutes together is beneficial. I will do my best to share with you how your student is progressing and what we can do together to make them successful. Final schedules will come home tomorrow and I will attach my Monday - Wednesday plan as well.

It is really dark in here...
...if your student hasn't already told you, we blacked out our windows today and poked holes in them to make a sky full of stars and constellations. It looks awesome! (Miss Lau often doesn't have ideas that actually turn out...the first time..yay!) We also painted the planets and their satellites today. Hopefully, we will come up with a way to mount those in the classroom by the end of the week. Feel free to stop in and check out our work.

Our field trip this Friday will be to the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center. We will leave here around 10:45 am to be there by 11:30 am. We will eat lunch and then canoe! For those who might be concerned, the small pond that we will be in is 2-4 ft deep and every child will have a life jacket. It is a very calm pond. I took the 8th grade class when they were in 6th grade and they had a blast...and no one fell in! I will send out a final note to all of chaperons on Thursday.

Thanks for coming to Doughnuts with Dad day! It was great to see you all there.
Our field trip next Friday will be to the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center. We will leave here around 10:45 am to be there by 11:30 am. We will eat lunch and then canoe! For those who might be concerned, the small pond that we will be in is 2-4 ft deep and every child will have a life jacket. It is a very calm pond. What a wacky Wednesday...
Announcements:
It was a wacky one indeed. Picture day always has a way of messing up schedules and it definitely did that today. Homework was lighter and there really wasn't a lot of study time this afternoon (lunch went late, long Math class, PE...). I did what I could to alleviate loads of homework coming home.

I hope that everyone enjoyed the extra day off this weekend. I spent time with my family in LaCrosse, WI. It was great to be around family but it is also great to be back with "my" kids.

Happy Wednesday!
We had a great day being the "top dogs" around school...extra recess, popsicles...just wait until tomorrow!
Please pack lunches in a throw away bag as we will be picnicing outside, away from school. Students are allowed to bring soda but we will get a chance to grab our milk before leaving. Rain or shine!
No homework for tomorrow - please bring back packs as we will continue to clean up our classroom and take items home.
Awards and track ribbons will be sent home on Friday along with report cards. God's Blessings!

Happy Mother's Day!
I hope you all are enjoying a great day with your family!
Congratulations to the girls' soccer team as they took 3rd place in their tournament yesterday. Congratulations to the 5-6 grade girls' track team that took 3rd place and the 5-6 boys' track team that took 3rd place on Friday night. Overall, as a school, we took 2nd. Go Crusaders! Look for ribbons sometime this week!
We leave NO LATER than 7:30 am tomorrow morning. Don't forget to pack a lunch and your name and our school's name on it. See you then!
Students had a Science and an English assignment that will be due on Tuesday.

Progress reports, pink slips, graded papers, and mission envelopes came home today. There were also notes included for the field trip on Monday. Please look everything over tonight and sign the needed slips to return tomorrow...thank you!
