I could list the multitude of excuses for not posting on time (pick up trophies in Kenosha by 5, PTA, basketball tournament, etc.) but I won't! Sorry for the late post. I know if there was a big issue, you would have called or texted. Here a few highlights:

No Progress Report this week. There are very few Catechism grades in and I'd like to wait another week to hand out a report. If you are deeply concerned about your child's grades, please contact me and I'd be happy to let you know how they are doing.

Are you able to volunteer to help at our basketball tournament this weekend? Please let me know!

The fifth graders (boys and girls) have had some trouble at lunch the past two days keeping their food to themselves and actually eating it. They will be having assigned seats until further notice. If it happens again, the specific children involved will be sent home with a disciplinary note and may result in a detention. Please talk to your child in fifth grade about proper lunch time behavior and how you paid good money for that food for them to consume not to play with.

Catechism - Lesson 37 on gossiping about our neighbors. This is a problem that has affected our classroom. The devil works hard, especially on young Christian boys and girls, and it is sometimes easy for us to fall into this temptation of gossip. Hopefully the students heard about how it can affect others and what God wants us to instead.

Science - No assignment. Ask you student what three biomes were discussed today and why they are grouped together.

A field trip note came home today on a pink sheet of paper. Please note that we need to know if you would like to chaperon by next Friday, January 31. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Speaking of field trips, I may need to change the Schlitz Audubon trip to a different date. I was summoned for Jury Duty in Milwaukee on February 13-14. I am going to try to change that date. Please stay tuned!

Progress Reports will come home next week. With the beginning of the new quarter, I like to wait a few weeks to send those home.

Welcome Back!

I pray that everyone enjoyed a long, relaxing break. I didn't waste any time getting the 5 and 6-ers back into the swing of things...we jumped right in!

THANK YOU for all of the generous gifts this past Christmas. They were not at all deserved but very much appreciated. The greatest gift of all was witnessing my students proclaim the good news - Jesus Christ is Born...for us!
