Catechism Link

I have added a link on the right hand side under "Memory Work" to the Luther's Small Catechism (blue book). This will come in handy for the commandments and articles memory work if the student has forgotten their book at school!

Assignments:

Christ Light - Ws. 3a from yesterday is due for tomorrow
Memory Work - Hymn 413 st. 1 - 3
Catechism - We studied the 1st Commandment and why we love God above all things, Ws. 4
Math - Studied sequences and scales today, Lesson 10, #1-30. Math Test 1 is planned for Tuesday.
English - We learned how to write our own practice sentences, Ws. 7 - 3 sentences
Literature - Vocabulary Crossword puzzles and Quiz...TOMORROW
Music/Art - None
Science - We finished our lesson on folding, faults (normal, reverse, lateral), and mountains, Ws. 2.2 for tomorrow
History - Read Lesson 2, notes, and Wb. 19
Journal/Handwriting - We wrote about a time that we learned from a mistake

Announcements:

1. Notes home - Hot lunch menu for October, Talent Show information, Book Fair Information, mission envelope (bring back tomorrow!), pink slip, note for drivers for field trip tomorrow, volleyball tournament notes and concession workers.

2. Trinity apparel (or blue and gold) should be worn for field trip tomorrow.

Packer Day!!

Our class (and the whole school!) is invited to wear our Packer gear tomorrow, Thursday, September 8th. Students in 6th grade are allowed to wear hats, face paint, cheese heads....in other words: go all out! Let's have a fun day celebrating the opening of another great football season and our WORLD CHAMPION Green Bay Packers!

Christ Light - The Flood: How God showed his mercy and judgement, Ws. 3a
Memory Work - New Testament Books, Matthew - 2 Thessalonians
Catechism - Ws. 3 - don't forget the "With Your Family" section that parents are to write
Math - Number lines, ordering and comparing numbers, Lesson 9 #1-30
English - We learned the 4 types of sentences and how to put them in our Q & A flow, Ws. 6
Literature - We continued studying our story, "Autumn". Students will use 6 of our vocabulary words to create their own crossword puzzle...with clues! This is due on Friday. Students will also be quizzed on this story on Friday. No assignment due Thursday.
Music/Art - None
Science - We started lesson 2 on folding and faults, no assignment
History - Introduced Chapter 2 on the Fertile Crescent, students will read Lesson 1 and take notes on the Geography of this region and complete Wb. 18 for tomorrow
No Spelling this week

Welcome back, everyone. I hope this post finds you enjoying the beginning of a new week. What a blessing it was to have an extra day to spend with family and friends and relax! Just a reminder that our field trip is planned for Friday. Hot lunch starts this week on Wednesday and Friday. Girls' volleyball have games on Tuesday and Thursday - everyone is welcome to cheer on your Crusaders!

Assignments:

Christ Light - None
Memory Work - New Testament books, Matthew - 2 Thessalonians, for Thursday
Catechism - Fearing (worship, obey, respect) God above all things, Ws. 3 for Thursday
Math - Perimeter, Lesson 8, #1-30
English - We added the Article Adjective to our Q & A flow, Ws. 5 and vocab word in word box
Literature - Finish reading the story, "Autumn" for tomorrow
Music/Art - None
Science - We continued our study on earthquakes learning about P, S and surface waves, Ws. 2-1
History - No Assignment...we took the Chapter 1 Test today
Handwriting - Worksheet on the cursive, lowercase "t"

Announcements:

1. There are a few things that will be in students back packs today (still trying to get everyone used to the new, Thursday paper-out rule!). Boys will receive a note about Boy Pioneers and the youngest student in your family will have something about the upcoming Book Fair and a lice check.

English - Vocabulary Word (reiterate) in word box and Ws. 4. We added adverbs and adjectives to our question and answer flow now!
Literature - No Assignment, we did a class quiz and watched a cartoon on "The Happy Prince" and shared our newspaper articles on "Mazy May"
Music/Art - Finish Shoe Drawing for Tuesday
Science - We started to read Chapter 1 about earthquakes...no assignment!
History - Study for Chapter 1 Test which will take place on Tuesday

English - Nouns, Verbs, Sentence classifying pattern 1, Ws. 3
Literature - "Happy Prince" vocabulary words & "Mazy May" Newspaper Article
Music/Art - Finish Shoe Drawing for Friday
Science - Chapter 1 Test is a take-home, open book test. Some students were able to finish it in class
History - Review for Test using page at the end of chapter (students worked on this today with groups) and Wb. 17
Spelling - All worksheets for Week 1 in pink books should be completed. Test is tomorrow!

1. The following items are coming home today in folders:TST (check your email!), September school calendar, Drama Club note, Volleyball volunteer schedule (only to some), Field Trip note, PTA notes, picture order forms, and papers from this past week to be reviewed by the parents. Pink slips should be signed and brought back tomorrow.
